The Louise Furst STOPDV Award is named after Louise Furst, a longtime member of the community and supporter of STOPDV. Louise is one of the founding members of the Central Arkansas Women's Shelter (now known as the RISE House), and has a passion for helping and supporting survivors of domestic violence. This award is given to a person who embodies all that Louise does and will go the extra mile to ensure that all survivors of domestic violence can regain their power and their voice.
Our 2022 Louise Furst Award was presented to Hon. Judge Ed Clawson at our Candlelight Vigil honoring victims & survivors of domestic violence. Judge Clawson has been a tremendous help behind STOPDV's impact, particularly within Faulkner County District Court, and has gone above and beyond for victims of violent crime. Judge Clawson has a long history as an active member in Faulkner County, serving as a circuit judge for over 25 years. Now serving in 2nd Division District Court starting in 2020, he has been able to serve the community even further, spreading positive impact for survivors of domestic violence and beyond.
